What a wonderful Melbourne Cup day with nearly 50 entrants at the Rapid Chess tournament! This event was proudly sponsored by Ruby Vo from Area Specialist.

Special thanks to NM John governing the tournament as the chief arbiter and to Lachlan for organising the pairings.

50th Dandenong Club Championship – 2023

From our Humble Beginnings in 1972, drawn together with the excitement of the World Chess Championship match of that year, a small group of Chess Enthusiasts gathered together to plan the Makings of a Chess Club.

That first Meeting took place in early 1973, with Bobby Fischer having been crowned World Champion a few months earlier.

On behalf of our current Committee and all 49 previous Committees we would like to invite all of you to join our 50th club championship.

WhenEvery Wednesday 7:30pm start, commencing Wednesday 12 July
Format7 round Swiss, 60 minutes plus 10 second increment per move.
Up to two half point byes available in the first 5 rounds.
Must be advised a week in advance.
Cost$40 members
$50 non-members
$30 each for 2+ siblings
EntryAt the Club, from 7pm on the first evening of the event.
